$150 covers the cost of a goat ($120), vaccines and will help emply an experienced goat handler ($30)
A pregnant goat is loaned from the school to a family. The loan is repaid by two kid goats being given back to the school.
Goats are used for milk, meat and income.
Goats can have two pregnancies in a year for up to 10 years.
The 'Gift a Goat Project' goal is to provide a family with an income so that they can pay school fees for their children.
Of course there are a lot of variables such as whether the goats produce one goat kid or twins or triplets and whether they have one or two pregnancies a year. But the above gives an idea of how one goat can build up to providing a sustainable income.
